Positive impact on our nature

Wood, the green raw material in construction! Choose sustainability and build with wood. Our vision is a greener world where wood plays a leading role. Wood sourced from responsibly managed forests, where CO2 is stored and the forest is preserved for the future. With Flamefix, we contribute to this vision, thanks to our 100% biodegradable fire retardant.

Process of impregnation

Impregnating wood with Flamefix in an autoclave ensures that the fire retardant penetrates deeply into the wood. This makes the wood significantly less susceptible to rapid ignition and slows down the spread of fire!

1

Start phase

The wood is checked, measured, weighed, and stacked upon arrival. It is then placed in the autoclave.

2

the preparation

A vacuum is created in the autoclave. This vacuum removes air and moisture from the cells of the wood, making room for Flamefix. The vacuum ensures that the fire retardant is absorbed more deeply and evenly into the wood.

3

Flamefix is added

The autoclave is then fully filled with the Flamefix Outdoor or Flamefix Indoor liquid.

4

Impregnation under pressure

The autoclave is then subjected to increased pressure to force the fire retardant deeper into the wood structure. This step ensures that Flamefix penetrates deeply into the wood. The pressure is maintained for a specific period, depending on the type of wood and its dimensions.

5

Post-vacuum and final phase.

The pressure in the autoclave is then reduced, and the remaining liquid is pumped out. The excess substance that has not been absorbed by the wood is recovered for reuse. The wet, impregnated wood is then removed from the autoclave.

6

Drying and further treatment

The wood is then placed in a drying chamber, where it gradually dries to the desired moisture content. After inspection, the wood is (if necessary) brushed and/or finished with a coating. Finally, it is made ready for shipment.
